Monday Funday: The Release Day Edition
We have a winner, mes amis! Congratulations, Carol Alscheff! You are the winner of the holiday box of goodies! I’ll be in touch with you for a mailing address! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and commented–y’all made release day a very happy one!
Oh, mes amis! We are floating on air today as Christmas In River’s Edge, Book 3 in the Weaver Sisters trilogy launched this morning. If you pre-ordered, it’s on your e-reader–have fun! I’m a little late getting here because I spent the morning doing my Medicare Wellness check–I am, well, that is. Very well actually. My primary care doc was overjoyed at the rise in my ejection fraction number and very happy with my A1C, which was well within the normal range. All in all, I’m doing great. Plus, I got to pass out book promo cards all over the medical office and blood lab–always a treat!
So today, we celebrate! How about a giveaway in honor of Gabe and Jenny’s story? Here’s the blurb for Christmas in River’s Edge, just in case you haven’t seen it yet:
You can go home again…
After a painful divorce from her high school sweetheart, triplet Jenny Weaver returns to River’s Edge with her young son. While happy to be reunited with her sisters and working at the family’s marina, she has no intention of jumping into the dating pool, especially going into the holidays. Then Gabe Dawson, once a shy nerd who tutored her in history classes, arrives home transformed into a handsome hunk who makes her pulse race.
Archeologist and history professor Gabe Dawson thought he’d long ago outgrown his teen crush on Jenny. Back in town for a few months to help his mom post surgery, he can’t resist reaching out to Jenny. She’s as beautiful, warm, and funny as he remembered and soon Gabe is reconsidering his future.
Gabe is determined to seize this second chance, but can he convince a very wary Jenny that a globe-trotter is ready to come home for good this Christmas?
Now for this launch day giveaway: I’ve got a box of goodies for a randomly selected commenter (Continental US only). I was going to get all existential on you–ask if you think you can go home again, but you know, today is all about the fun, so instead, just tell me your absolute favorite holiday dessert. Mine is Husband’s cranberry cake, which is just out of this world! What’s yours? I’ll select a winner on Tuesday, October 24. And… go!
Thanks for coming by to celebrate with me! I appreciate your support more than you know!

OK, now we have to know your husband’s cranberry cake recipe!
This sounds odd but I look forward to the sweet potato casserole my DIL makes…cranberry and pecans mixed in a mashed sweet potatoes topped with a streussle which included can berries and pecans…if I were making it, I’d include some orange rind in the potato base…
Nan
That sounds amazing!!

Yup–Husband makes it sooo good with soy milk, so it’s dairy free, but delish!
Nan
Deb, I’ve never had seven-layer cookies. Do tell!
Joannie Sico
This is a very difficult question because we have many holiday desserts and I I have a few favorites but if forced to choose just one I guess I would say my mom’s homemade apple pie. In case you are wondering the others are pumpkin bread, gingerbread cookies, raspberry squares, & dingbats.
Nan
Thanks, Joannie! All those sound fab, and I do love apple pie. What are dingbats?
Joannie Sico
Dingbats are basically Rice Krispies, dates, sugar, & butter mixed together and rolled into balls and rolled in coconut.
Kate Sparks
Yule Log!!
Nan
I’ve never had Yule Log before, Kate, tell me about it!
