Author Spotlight: Sarah Vance-Tompkins Takes Over

Congratulations to Rosanna Leo, who’s dream travel destination matches Sarah’s–London! Rosanna, Sarah will be in touch with you. Thanks to everyone who stopped by! Please come by again soon!

I’m turning the blog over to Sarah Vance-Tompkins today and I’m just delighted to do it! Sarah was born in a small town in northern Michigan. She received an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California, and went on to work in feature film development for ten years. Prior to film school, she worked as an on-air radio personality. She is a lifetime reader of romance and is excited to be writing in the genre. She and her husband live in Southern California with a glaring of unruly cats.

Sarah, the floor is yours, my friend…

Dacey Adair Dreams Of Adventure. So Do I.

I love living in southern California. Most days are sunny and bright. We can watch the sun set in the west over the canyon from our house. I love my hometown too. Summers on Lake Michigan are idyllic. Winter can be seriously cold and snowy, but any glimpse I get of the lake always warms the cockles of my heart even when the temperatures are glacial.

I believe I have the best of both worlds…

…but I dream of travel.

Budapest.

Vienna.

Casablanca.

These are the top three destinations on my list. Heck, I’d settle for returning to London or Paris.

This year I made up for all travel I skipped during the covid lockdown. Unfortunately, all of my airline miles have been logged traveling home or to the east coast for family emergencies. Summer flights were oversold. The airports crowded. Being seated next two people bursting with excitement on the first leg of a two-week cruise around the islands of Greece when I was traveling with a cold in order to go home and say goodbye to a loved one was no fun.

To comfort myself over the past few months, I’ve been taking frequent mini virtual travel breaks: memorizing the photos and videos posted on Instagram that feature my favorite spots on the other side of the world. I follow several professional photographers on Twitter and TikTok who post breath-taking clips at least once a week.

DACEY ADAIR, the heroine of my new Tule romance WISHING FOR MR. RIGHT possesses the same kind of wanderlust that has been plaguing me. She worries none of her dreams will come true, especially after she meets a local farmer and cheesemaker. LUKE LA FONTAINE.

Here’s the description of my new book.

When her high-rise career tanks, urbanite Dacey Adair returns to her northern Michigan hometown of Christmas Tree Cove in need of a reset. Early one morning while prepping for her seasonal job on a fishing charter, Dacey makes a half-hearted wish on the harvest moon to bring her the man of her dreams.

A few blinks later, she finds a naked man clinging to her boat.

Local heartthrob Luke La Fontaine has led a charmed life. He’s recently become famous for his TikTok videos demonstrating the art of cheesemaking while surrounded by adorable farm animals. His handmade, small batch cheese is much sought-after by foodies. But what he really needs is a business strategy.

It’s the perfect recipe to set Dacey back on the path to success, but as she and Luke spend more time together, her goals blur. Is this an off-season fling or will their connection age to perfection?

I’ve told you my top three travel destinations, but I’ve got more. Comment with your top travel destination and I’ll give a $10 Amazon gift certificate to someone who shares the same destination that’s on my list. Hint: It’s not one of the three I mentioned above!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope your day is filled with love , adventure and romance.

xo

I love going to the Thomas, Davis, Canaan Valley area in West Virginia. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.

Love your work, Sarah! I’m a travel lover too. We’re only just starting to get out there again but I have several places I want to see in the near future: Edinburgh and the Highlands, Orkney, London (always and forever, my number 1,) Greece, Prague, Vienna, the Mayan Riviera, and Atlantic Canada. I need to get moving!

I would love to travel as well. Italy and Greece have always been on my someday list as well as Great Britain and Ireland. I understand Bonaire is a gorgeous island for snorkeling and scuba diving.

I am like a kid in the candy shop now that airports are open around the world to us. A small ship cruise around the capitals of the East! An African safari! Australia and New Zealand! The Galapagos! Spain and Portugal! A hut over the water in Bora Bora! I can’t seem to settle on what I want to do first.

This summer we went to Greece, and next summer it will be London and the Highlands, as that’s the trip my nephew chose as his graduation gift. After that … ????

I would love to go back to Alaska. What I saw on a cruise in 1996 was gorgeous, now need to go inland farther.
By the way I finished Looking For Mr Right yesterday and loved it! When does Eli’s book come out?

I went on my dream vacation this summer after a two-year delay–you know why. I went on an Alaskan cruise–by myself, kind of. It was a trip with 140 people who were friends and alumni of my undergrad college. I could do things alone or with a group. I kept thinking this couldn’t be real, but it was!

I would also love to visit Hungary because my grandparents were from there. I love beaches, so Bora Bora is also a place I would love to see one day. Another place on my list would be Wales. I have an online friend who shares beautiful pictures of her area all the time.
