Author Spotlight: Me with Big News!
Putting myself in the spotlight today with a big announcement–I’m moving! My amazing publisher has offered me a new challenge, and I couldn’t resist! I’ve been invited to write a series for Tule Publishing’s Montana Born imprint, so for the next four books, we are all about the cowboys, ranches, the spectacular Montana mountains, rugged cowboys, Marietta, rodeos, cowboys, bronc ridin’, the open range ..oh, and did I mention cowboys?
My first Montana Born book, Forever Cowboy launches in September as a part of a special Bad Boys of the Rodeo series with three other fabulous authors: Jeannie Watt’s Unforgettable Cowboy; Nicole Flockton’s Headstrong Cowboy; Sinclair Jayne’s Rogue Cowboy; and then me with Forever Cowboy! I hope to feature each of them here in Author Spotlight all through September, so definitely watch for their stories!
Then Forever Cowboy becomes Book 1 in my brand new Juniper Falls Ranch series with three more books that happen in the glorious Big Sky country of Montana. I’m writing like crazy and having the time of my life with my cowboys and their bold women counterparts.
But it occurred to me that if I was going to write about Big Sky country, the mountains, and ranches, maybe I’d better get myself to Montana and check it all out. So this summer, my pal and fellow Tule author, Carol Light and I are meeting up in Denver and heading to Montana! I can’t wait for this trip! Although I’ve flown over that part of the country plenty of times heading to California, I’ve only ever stopped in Denver as a layover, and I’ve never been to Montana. This is going to be a fabulous trip! We have a lot of research and touristing on our agenda, and I can’t wait to take off! I’m going to be looking for some cool Montana tchotchkes to offer up as giveaways for y’all when I get home. There’s going to be a lot of fun around the Bad Boys of the Rodeo series so stay tuned here and on the Tule Publishing website.
Forever Cowboy
It was supposed to be just a vacation fling…
43-year-old Beth Dykeman’s life is spiraling—her 20-year marriage is over as is her career in Nashville’s Chamber of Commerce. Now back home in River’s Edge, Indiana, she’s grieving the end of her dream to have a family. Hoping to restart her life, she books a relaxing long weekend at a spa in beautiful Montana. But Beth arrives only to discover she accidentally booked a stay at a working dude ranch in the middle Marietta’s 87th Copper Mountain Rodeo celebration weekend.
When he’s not competing, 36-year-old bronc rider Del Foster works at the Aspen Springs Ranch. He’s ready to hang up his spurs. This rodeo will be his last competition before he finally settles down and buys his own small spread to train cutting horses.
Their instant chemistry shocks them both, and on her last night, Beth indulges the attraction knowing she’ll never see Del again. But fate has a way of changing plans and challenging assumptions. Can Beth and Del both have what they never knew they always wanted?
That’s the news, mes amis! I am so very excited, and I hope you’ll join me on this new adventure!

That sounds great! I’m not into cowboy romance, but I’ll definitely give yours a try 🙂
Nan
Hiya, Deb! I hope you do! I think you’ll find my beta cowboys a little different, but still sexy and intriguing. If you like my RE heroes… 😉 Hugs!
Roseann McGrath Brooks
Congrats, Nan! I’m definitely looking forward to reading the series, but for an unusual reason: I’ve been told that cowboy romances are a hot ticket, but I could never get into them. Because I love your writing, I am looking forward to being persuaded to the subgenre. 🙂
Nan
Hey Roseann! So glad to see you here! Thank you a million–I appreciate all your support and maybe, just maybe I can persuade you to the cowboy side with my gentle heros and strong heroines. I hope so! HugsA!
Mary Rogers
Just dropped in after our sprint with Bryn! Great news and congratulations on the new series. Looking forward to reading it. Reminded me that as a youngster I wanted to grow up to be a cowgirl! Not a likely career for a girl born in New England!
Nan
Mary, thank you so much for popping by! Sure appreciate it. Aren’t the sprints with Bryn great? I dunno–my hero in Forever Cowboy was born in Boston… just sayin’… 🙂
Mary Rogers
So cool about the your cowboy and
Boston! Yes I agree on Brynb Sprints being great. She did sprints last summer and I loved it but then dropped them because of her own need for time for work. Not easy being available like that in the early morning when you have other commitments. But I will take advantage of them while they’re available.

As a beta reader, I’m here to tell anyone who cares to listen that they are going to love your Montana sojourn. Beth and Del are such cool people and the story is a wonderful blend of tenderness, some powerful chemistry, and things happening. Oh, and…yes…Rascal.
Nan
Rascal! He’s a treat! I hope you’re right! I want readers to fall in love with Juniper Falls Ranch as they have with River’s Edge! Hugs and always, always merci for your unending support! Love you, sister!

NAN! Yay! I’m so excited you’ll be doing something new and fun. So glad Tule knows what they have in you. Big love!
Nan
Thank you, Lani–I always give credit to my writing career to you, my friend–you believed first! I know what I have in Tule and I’m very grateful. Big love right back!
Latesha B.
Congratulations on your newest series. Sounds like it is going to be wonderful.
Nan
Thank you, Latesha! I sure hope so!
Denise
I’m so excited for you! Welcome to Montana Born!
Nan
Thank you, Denise! I’m very excited and feeling challenged, but I think I’m up to it. Hugs!
Doris Lankford
Congratualtions. I can’t wait to read your new series.
Nan
Thank you, Doris! I hope you love my cowboys as much as I do! It’s a brand new adventure! Hugs!
Janine
I look forward to reading the books. Is River’s Edge still going to get new books or will you strictly be Marietta now?
Nan
Hi Janine, thank you for asking. River’s Edge certainly is still on the table–those Conrad brothers and their bike shop are simmering at the back of my mind, but for now, my focus is Montana. Hoping I can build out this new series and that it will bring Marietty readers to River’s Edge too! Hugs, sweets!
