Hubby likes mincemeat pie. I had thought I might get one made for him before Christmas, but don’t think I’ll make it. But if it is for New Year’s I don’t think he will mind.
I would love to have some good homemade chocolate fudge with nuts, and some good homemade smooth peanut butter fudge. It’s been years since I’ve tried to make either, but I do miss my Mother’s.
I have made 2 batches of Snickerdoodles in the last couple of weeks. And that’s been the first of those in quite some time. [have you realized, I don’t cook?] Of course, I do like snickerdoodles any time of the year. 🙂

I have 2 things that I love to eat for Christmas. My Mom always made a date nut cake over the holidays. One weekend was devoted to baking enough for family, friends and to mail to family who lived out of state.
My second favorite thing was my mother in law’s cookie melts. Very similar to a Melting moment cookie, but with a secret ingredient she never did share until after her death, it was nutmeg! I have recipes for and make both, but my cookies never turn out right!
Kate Sparks
Forgotten Cookie egg whites, sugar, whipped to hard peaks, baked and left overnight in oven..
