• Celebrating Indiana Romance Authors: Cheryl Brooks

I’m delighted to introduce you to another amazing Indiana romance author, who also happens to be one of my critique partner and another of my dear friends, Cheryl Brooks. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Cheryl is a former critical care nurse who resides in rural Indiana with her husband, two sons, two horses, three cats, and one dog. She is the author of the ten-book Cat Star Chronicles series, the Cowboy Heaven series (two books and one novella), the Soul Survivors trilogy, the four-book Unlikely Lovers series, and several stand-alone books and novellas. Look for The Trouble With Star Travel, the first book in her new Cat Star Legacy series…

  • Celebrating Indiana Romance Authors–Liz Flaherty

I made a promise to myself that I would make a sincere effort to blog more in 2018, although I think there’s a very good chance I don’t have all that much fascinating to say. So I thought it would be fun to introduce you to some of my sister romance authors here in Indiana. January is Indiana Author month here at nanreinhardt.com, and our first author is not only one of my very favorite romance authors, she’s also one of my very best friends. Friends, I give you Indiana Romance Novelist, Liz Flaherty. Hi, everybody, and thanks, Nan, for inviting me to be your first-out-of-the-gate Indiana author on your…

  • The Happiness Pact

Break out the champagne or the chocolate or both, mes amies, I’m celebrating! My BFF, author Liz Flaherty, has released a brand new Harlequin Heartwarming romance today! The Happiness Pact is now available at book retailers everywhere, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I’m so excited about this story and not just because I got to read it pretty much before anyone else did, but also because it takes us back to Lake Miniaqua and the group of friends we met in last year’s Every Time We Say Goodbye. I love Liz’s writing beyond words and I always hate it when I finish one of her books because I want…

  • BookBub for the Win!

All in all, I’d do it again in a heartbeat. • Life Is . . . Settling Down . . .

. . . a little bit. Summer is nearly half over. Can you believe it? I really thought that after Dee’s memorial service, life would settle back into normal, but you know, I think that I’ve lost “normal.” Or maybe I never had it in the first place. I’m not sure anymore. Is there normal? If anyone figures that one out, let me know. In the meantime, here’s a scene from Saving Sarah–Book 4 in the Women of Willow Bay series. It’s currently with my editor and hopefully, very soon, we’ll have a cover to show you and a release date. This scene takes place about a week and half…

  • Done . . . Begin Again

Saving Sarah is with my editor, which means it’s out of my hands for a few weeks, which also means it needs to be out of my mind for the next few weeks. Honestly, that’s a really hard thing to do–release a book. I keep going back through it . . . but it’s time to stop because until I get the edits back from Lani, it’s pointless to make changes. I’m fairly certain that she’ll have plenty for me to do on the manuscript when she returns it. My challenge is to let go and start something new. To that end, I’m working on a new story that I…

  • The Last 4,000 Words

I’m in the home stretch with Saving Sarah, book 4 of the Women of Willow Bay series. I can’t wait to finish it, but there is a little bit of bittersweet involved, too. I’m not positive, but I think this will be the last WOWB book. I have another woman in the village who could have a story, but I’m pretty sure it’s time to close this one out. I have a new book already started and I like the characters and the setting, which is Indiana, not Michigan. Of course, we’re up in northern Indiana near the dunes and Lake Michigan because I can’t imagine a story without a…

  • Chasing Summer

It’s November 2 and it’s chilly and breezy here at the lake—like wintertime chilly. The sun is shining today, but on Halloween–just two days ago–it snowed! Snow on Halloween! Sheesh! We just walked down to the dock to take a look at the lake, and the wind nipped at my nose so bad, I had to wrap my scarf around my face. Now, as I sit by the window, working and watching the wind scatter our tidy piles of raked leaves back across the yard, I’m wondering what the hell happened to summer? I know summer was here—after all the cottage is still open (although we’re closing up next weekend).…

  • 8-Sentence Sunday

It’s rolled around again, hasn’t it? Now…where were we? Oh, yeah, Ben’s trying to figure out what happened to his sweet little editor and Sophie’s giving seduction her best effort… Her voice was husky as she looked up at him from under her lashes. With that, he lost the tiny grip he had on his self-control. Groaning, he pulled her into arms. She melted against him, kissing him hungrily, opening her lips to his. His restless hands moved over her back, finding the hem of her tank top and then touching soft skin. “You’re killing me here, Russo,” he murmured against her lips. “God, you’re irresistible.” Taking her lips again,…
