Celebrating Indiana Romance Authors: Donya Lynne
Are you all having as much fun as I am celebrating Indiana Romance Authors this month? I hope you’ve found some new books to read and some new authors to follow. Today, I’m featuring another of my IRWA chapter sisters, Donya Lynne. Donya is the bestselling author of the award-winning All the King’s Men and Strong Karma Series and a member of Romance Writers of America. Making her home in a wooded suburb north of Indianapolis with her husband, Donya has lived in Indiana most of her life and knew at a young age she was destined to be a writer. She started writing poetry in grade school and won her first short story contest in fourth grade. In junior high, she began writing romantic stories for her friends, and by her sophomore year, she’d been dubbed Most Likely to Become a Romance Novelist. In 2012, she fulfilled her dream by publishing her first two novels and a novella. Her work has earned her two IPPYs, five eLit Awards, a USA Today Recommended Read, and numerous accolades, including two Smashwords bestsellers. When she’s not writing, she can be found cheering on the Indianapolis Colts or doing her cats’ bidding. Take it away, Donya!
Nan, thanks for having me today. I was inspired by Sochi Winter Olympics to write Finding Lacey Moon, so it’s the perfect time to share it with fans again, with Olympic fever rising over the upcoming Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
Finding Lacey Moon is about a champion snowboarder named Lacey Moon who has been competing since she was a little girl. Now, as an adult, the fame and fortune have caught up with her, along with the constant barrage of paparazzi.
After suffering a tragic accident while competing in the Olympics, she snaps. Riding a severe nervous and emotional meltdown, Lacey changes her appearance and flees public life, traveling under an alias until she reaches Hope Falls, a small mountain town in Idaho.
Hope Falls is the perfect place for her to figure out who she is and what she wants, but when she meets Scott McCord, she thinks maybe fate brought her to Hope Falls to find more than just herself. Maybe she’ll find love in the small town, too.
This was such a fun story to write, and it’s one of my sweeter romances. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Finding Lacey Moon
All she wanted was to escape the paparazzi so she could find herself. She never expected to find him.
Champion snowboarder, Lacey Moon, has lost her love of the sport, couldn’t care less about winning another gold medal, and has no idea who she is anymore. Desperate to find a way out of the vicious cycle sucking her into obscurity, she disguises her identity, flees the familiarity of home, and strikes out on the open road, eventually ending up in Hope Falls.
Former football star, Scott McCord, has lived in Hope Falls all his life and runs McCord Cabin Rentals with his brother. Having suffered tragedy and deception at the hands of his first love, Scott has abandoned hope of ever finding a woman to share his life with, choosing instead to devote his attention to his daughter.
When Lacey’s path crosses Scott’s, fireworks fly. For the first time in ten years, Scott can see himself falling in love again. And the more time Lacey spends with Scott, the more she realizes he is her future. There’s just one problem. Lacey hasn’t told Scott her true identity.
When the truth comes out, she could lose everything she’s found in Hope Falls.
