Author Spotlight: Roseann Brooks Is Here with a New Novel and a Giveaway!

Giveaway winner is Susan Wright! Congratulations, Susan–Roseann will be in touch.

I’m so pleased to welcome Roseann McGrath back to the blog with her new novel, Wonderfully Made, the second book in her inspirational series, Vacation Friends. Roseann is not only a fellow romance author, but also a fellow editor. That’s how we met originally.  Roseann reads and writes romance novels. In her other life, she edits business technology communications for a marketing agency and tutors writing and beginning French at a local college. She lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania, with her husband and two keep-you-on-your-toes cats and is thankful for very supportive friends and family.

Be sure to read all the way to the end because Roseann is randomly drawing one lucky commenter to win a $20 Amazon gift card. Just answer her question at the end of her blog for a chance to win!

Thanks, Nan, for inviting me back to your blog and thanks to you, romance-reading fans, for checking in.

I’m excited to announce the launch of Wonderfully Made, book 2 in my Vacation Friends Romance series. Book 1, All for Good, briefly introduced the friends who had spent summer vacations together as children and focused on the romance between now-grown Emily and Daniel. Wonderfully Made tells about new love in the life of Abby, Emily’s older sister. Music teacher Abby falls hard for Philadelphia Eagles kicker Cayden. Of course, he falls just as hard—both romantically and physically: she accidentally knocks him over one day while running on the beach!

One theme that runs through the story is that of body image. Most of us struggle with something that we wish we could change about our physical appearance and worry at least a little about what others think. It was important for me to help Abby and Cayden discover through their relationship that they are each “wonderfully made.”

Writing people’s stories forces me to learn new things. In the past year or two, despite the fact that I’ve been an Eagles fan since age 6, I’ve learned a lot more about football, especially sports injuries. I’ve also learned a lot more about music. Did you know that middle schoolers would never try to sing Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus”? Boys’ voices are changing and the runs are too difficult. I have my brilliant reviewers to thank for those tidbits. Good reviewers and beta readers infuse even more truth and life into stories like Abby and Cayden’s.

As different as Abby and Cayden are, they have become my friends. I hope you, too, will enjoy spending time getting to know them.

So, for a chance to win a $20 gift card, of which I encourage you to use part to order Wonderfully Made or even start with All for Good, tell me either your favorite sports team or your favorite piece of music—or both!

Wonderfully Made

She’s a music teacher with a servant’s heart who sings like an angel. He’s a professional football player who’s humble and works hard. They both love God, music, football, and the beach. It’s a match made in heaven. But after an idyllic summer romance, they have to return to their real lives, including the scrutiny of fans and the demands of a new season. Can their budding love survive?

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; that I know very well.”

Psalm 139:14

I’m a fan of all Philly teams, but Flyers definitely top the list. What I listen to depends on what else I’m doing at the time. As a fellow editor, when I need to concentrate, I put on The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

Really enjoyed the first book and can’t wait to read the next.

I can’t wait to start reading Wonderfully Made! I love football, music and God…so, it seems Iike a win, win, win for me! I am the sports enthusiast and my husband is the musically inclined one in our relationship! I played softball in college and he majored in voice! But, 2 of our 3 sons still play soccer, so my favorite team to watch is the one they’re playing on…and then PSU football, Villanova basketball, Philadelphia Union soccer and Phila Eagles football (in that order:). As for music…anything my husband sings!
