• Sunday Snippet: The March Memos Edition

It’s that time again, mes amis. March memos. March has been an incredibly busy month so far–finishing a book, starting a new one, editing gigs to do, April book events to prepare for, plus housework and laundry and keeping fit. Thus, I do have a few things I need to get off my chest. Dear Spring, WTAH? Twenty degrees and frost on the ground one day, eighty degrees the next? And what’s with all the rain? Oh, wait, it’s spring in the Midwest… of course each day is a new weather adventure, but FYI, I’m ready for real spring. Warm days, cool nights, sunshine… you know… Confusingly, Nan ~*~*~*~*~ And…

  • Sunday Snippet: The I Might Need a Break from Technology Edition

Do you ever wonder how we survived before computers and cell phones and social media? I can’t remember when I last dialed (literally dialed) a telephone or got up from the sofa to change the TV station. Or took a picture with an actual camera. When I last typed something on a typewriter or used a paper roadmap to figure out where I was going or opened a recipe book to find a new way to cook chicken. I google every thing now. Texting is second nature now, too, as is taking pictures with my phone, and FaceTiming with my sister. Life has changed so much in the last twenty-five…

  • Author Spotlight: Elsa Winckler Takes Us Back to Montana & Cowboys!

One of the great pleasures of being a Tule Publishing author is meeting so many wonderful authors. Elsa Winckler is one and I’m so delighted to have her with me today to tell us about her newest novel. I love the cover on this one and I can’t wait to read it! Oh, and be sure to check out her giveaway!  Elsa has been reading love stories for as long as she can remember and when she ‘met’ the classic authors like Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Henry James, the Brontë sisters, etc. during her Honors studies, she was hooked for life. Although her three gown-up children rarely acknowledge the fact…

  • Sunday Snippet: The I’m Still Learning Edition

It’s been a tough week for me, for the country, for the world, and I debated long and hard about what my column for today would be. I could so easily rant here–it’s my space, I can say what I want. But I don’t want this to be a political platform. I prefer to keep this about my writer life, my editor life, and some things about just being Nan.  If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram or Bluesky, you know where I land, so I opted to talk writing instead, because as my friend and fellow author Anne Stuart so aptly puts it: “Everything in my life is…

  • Author Spotlight: The Taking a Peek Edition

Hello, mes amis, and welcome to a midweek peek at my current work-in-progress. A few months ago, I signed my fifth contract with Tule Publishing. I was so excited when they accepted my proposal for the Dykemans of River’s Edge series and even more jacked up that they were all in for one of the Dykeman siblings to take a little trip to Marietta, Montana. She will still be in River’s Edge for part of the story, so don’t worry–you’ll see Mac and Megan and Sam and all your old favorite characters, but this story belongs to Beth. With Book 1 in the Dykemans series, I’m joining three other Tule…

  • Sunday Snippet: The Taking a Break Edition

I’m taking a break from posting this week. I’ve been all over the Web with book promotion since Made to Love You released on January 23 (still at it as you can clearly see–sigh). Then there’s been the first two weeks of the new regime (I refuse to call it an administration). I’ve had a giant knot in my stomach since the inauguration and I’m a little scared that if I start writing about where my head and heart are right now, I’ll rant and won’t be able to stop. If you follow me on any social media, you already know where I’m at, so no need to fill this…

  • Sunday Snippet: The Writing in the Information Age Edition

It’s been a week, mes amis. I’m working hard on my current WIP–the first book in the Dykemans of River’s Edge series. Liz and I went on a very fruitful, if extremely chilly, writer retreat, where both of us wrote words and did a lot processing. Even more of “what’s the word for this” along with a gesture or a motion. We do that a lot when we’re writing together. Liz is an invaluable resource and I can’t imagine writing a book without her input. We ate some good food, drank a little less wine than usual, and found a fab little place for breakfast right near our hotel. Otherwise,…

We love hearing from our readers! I’m so pleased to welcome a new fellow Tule author Jillian David to the spotlight today! Award-winning and bestselling author Jillian David quickly writes, then slowly edits medical romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense books.
