Lara, tell us about this new book in the Endicotts of Silver Bay series.

Hello, and thank you, Nan, for inviting me to participate in the author spotlight event.

Writing stories during certain seasons is one of my favorite parts of what I do. And I didn’t realize until recently that I have done fall, winter, and spring books, but not one set in the summertime.

Until I Met You, which is the third book in my Endicotts of Silver Bay Series, is set in the summer and releases July 20th. I enjoyed thinking lemonade and picnics in the park, sunny days, and breezy evenings under the stars. My family lived in Florida when I was a kid so running through the grass barefoot, swimming in the pool, and basically being able to be outside most of the time defined my childhood. For most of my adult life I’ve lived in California (which is also where Silver Bay is set) so tapping into memories of sitting on the deck watching the water or strolling downtown in the evening helped create scenes for the book.

Until I Met You focuses on Dominic Endicott as he moves to Silver Bay from Connecticut to join his family. He meets Rachel Anderson who is new to Silver Bay and content to build a life away from the hurried pace of where she grew up in Los Angeles. Although they come from somewhat similar backgrounds, that’s exactly what causes Rachel to keep Dominic at bay. Not one to back away from a challenge, Dominic charms his way into Rachel’s heart, proving you can’t judge every book by its cover.

I hope you enjoy Until I Met You while basking in sunshine and sipping your favorite summer drink and as always, happy reading,

Until I Met You

When his parents move to Silver Bay, California, Dominic Endicott, ever the dutiful son, packs up his life and heads to the small town. He sees it as temporary, appeasing his mother and making sure his dad’s health is stable while Dominic keeps the family business running. Dominic planned on keeping his head down, focused only on working and spending time with his family. Until a beautiful brunette forces him to look up.

Local Chaplain and community center employee Rachel Anderson loves her little town that she’s called home for the past year. Silver Bay is a far cry from her life growing up in LA, and that’s perfectly fine with her. When she mistakes newcomer Dominic for her friend, Chet, her simple, curated life becomes complicated.

Thrown together to work on raising money for the town’s community center, the sparks between Rachel and Dominic are too strong to ignore. But Dominic represents everything Rachel has been running from, while Rachel has Dominic rethinking his entire life plan. Can these two bridge the gap between their worlds and give love a chance?

Cute book cover! Coca-Cola is my summer/all year round drink. Though I do love a nice glass of lemonade every once in awhile.

Until I Met You sounds wonderful! My favorite summer drink is raspberry or blood orange flavored iced tea. Favorite summer drink that has alcohol in it is a pina colada.

My favorite summertime beverage is Southern Comfort with Diet 7UP and a little juice from an orange over ice with a slice of orange for garnish. It’s so refreshing and delicious! You don’t have to make it strong.
Looking forward to reading your story! Enjoy your summer!
Our family reunion starts today. I’m crossing my fingers the weather will cooperate.

I look forward to reading your next book. It sounds really good. It’s already heating up where I live and I always enjoy a nice big glass of ice tea to help cool down. I also like smoothies.
