My Journey from a Small Missouri Town to Ohio: Crafting Texas Tales
by Kristina Knight

Hey, there, readers!! Thanks to Nan for hosting me today! I’m excited to share a peek into my own journey as an author. It’s a journey that took me from a small town in Missouri to the heartland of Ohio, one that has shaped my love for storytelling and led me to craft a trilogy set in the captivating world of Texas Hill Country, featuring cowboys and family drama.

From the Midwest to Ohio: The Beginning of My Adventure

First, hi and hello, I’m Kristina Knight, contemporary romance and cozy mystery author. I grew up in a quaint small town in Missouri – to give an idea of how small, my graduating high school class had 48 people. In my hometown, stories were cherished treasures, and dreams were nurtured with the same care as the town’s gardens. It was here that my love for storytelling was born, as I immersed myself in the tales of anyone who wanted to tell me a story and the enchanting landscape that surrounded us.

After graduating college, I embarked on a life-changing adventure as a reporter, crisscrossing the diverse tapestry of the Midwest. From bustling cities to quiet hamlets, and from the fertile plains to rolling hills, I absorbed stories from every corner of Missouri and Nebraska. My journalistic journey deepened my appreciation for the rich tapestry of people and places that make the heartland so uniquely special.

Discovering the Magic of Texas Hill Country

During my travels, I found myself in the captivating embrace of the Texas Hill Country – at least imaginatively! My family visited the Hill Country a few times. There, amidst the rolling hills and endless skies, I fell in love with the rugged charm of cowboys and the breathtaking beauty of the horse ranches that dotted the landscape. Texas, with its fierce independence and unwavering sense of family, left an indelible mark on my heart.

As I delved into reporting assignments that took me to Kansas, Nebraska, and even South Dakota ranches, I was drawn even closer to the colorful lives of the people who called these places home. It was in those moments that I began to envision stories of love, adventure, and resilience … and I kept coming back to Texas in my mind.

Cowboys, Horses, and Family Drama: Unveiling the Trilogy

My Texas Girls trilogy paints a vivid picture of Texas Hill Country, where cowboys and horses take center stage, and family bonds run deep. The first book introduces readers to a sprawling horse ranch, where secrets, rivalries, and the allure of wide-open spaces set the stage for an unforgettable saga.

As the story unfolds, readers are transported into a world where family bonds are tested, where love blossoms in unexpected places, and where the spirit of the land itself holds the key to the characters’ destinies. It’s a heartwarming journey that captures the essence of Texas and the timeless appeal of cowboy romance.

So, dear readers, keep an eye out for my trilogy, and prepare to immerse yourselves in a world where horses gallop beneath boundless skies, where cowboys are the heroes, and where family means everything. My story is a reminder that no matter where life takes you, the stories you carry from your small-town roots can become the heart of literary magic. I wish you joyful reading and hope that your own journeys are filled with wonder and inspiration!
