• The Happiness Pact

Break out the champagne or the chocolate or both, mes amies, I’m celebrating! My BFF, author Liz Flaherty, has released a brand new Harlequin Heartwarming romance today! The Happiness Pact is now available at book retailers everywhere, including Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I’m so excited about this story and not just because I got to read it pretty much before anyone else did, but also because it takes us back to Lake Miniaqua and the group of friends we met in last year’s Every Time We Say Goodbye. I love Liz’s writing beyond words and I always hate it when I finish one of her books because I want…

  • Still Rollin’ Along

Liz and Nan’s big Madison adventure continued today, but our adventurousness sorta stayed in the fiction realm. We went to breakfast, then came back to the hotel and set up in the lobby to write. We stayed put there, each of us writing and occasionally stopping to share a paragraph or ask one anothers’ opinion or discuss a word choice. Or even, ask for a word! We ended up skipping lunch and writing from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It was amazing–I got a fabulous start on novel 1 for Tule and Liz–ta da!! Liz finished her book that is due to Harlequin Heartwarming on December 1!! YAY! At 4,…

  • Rollin’ . . . Um, Writin’ on the River

Hey, it’s Liz and I just took over Nan’s computer! It’s Wednesday, and I gotta say, we have written a ton of words here on the river. This afternoon, we came down to the dining area of the hotel lobby and have been here for a couple of hours. Nan’s talking about thousands of words and I’m saying “yeah, yeah, yeah….” We’ve been winerying, coffeeing, and writing. It is fun. There is homesickness around the edges of the fun, always, and it’s kind of like the best of two worlds. It’s a good time traveling with a good friend and eating at all different kinds of restaurants that wouldn’t thrill…

  • On the Road

We had a great day in Madison! Spent the day wandering around–fun late lunch at a coffee shop in town and then two wineries for tasting. Loved, loved The Ridge–a little winery tasting room right on the Ohio River. Delish wine, lovely hostess, and beautiful view of the river. The Ridge is actually the winery I was thinking of as I imagined the Flaherty brothers’ tasting room on the river. It lived up to all my expectations. I’m excited to use this little river town as the basis for my stories. Liz says it’s been a fine day and she is so right. Somehow, we are the best of traveling…

  • A Teenager Trapped in an Old Body

So, I’m back with more body stuff, which just irritates the heck outta me. Although I’m truly okay with getting older, I really hate the physical stuff associated with aging. Flagging energy, a genetic proclivity for arthritic joints, occasional memory lapses, saggy underarms, the damn diverticulitis flares, and scary heart stuff. For some reason, even though fall is my favorite time of year, it also seems to be the time of year when body issues rear their ugly little heads. I wonder if it has anything to do with being a fall baby–maybe it’s my body’s way of acknowledging that I’m a year older. Who knows? Anyway, this fall, it’s…

  • When Christmas Goes Wrong with Guest Leigh Riker

Today, I’m delighted to welcome author Leigh Riker, whose novella is a part of the new HEARTWARMING HOLIDAY WISHES anthology–a trip back to Christmas Town, Maine. An Award-winning, USA Today best-selling author, Leigh was eight years old when she got the best Christmas present ever—a typewriter from Santa. She later began her career by publishing short stories. But with her first novel, she truly found her fictional “home,” and many books later her passion for writing—and romance—is as strong as ever. She lives in the Southeast where she is (of course) working on a new novel. On her computer. Please visit her website: http://www.leighriker.com or find her on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/leighrikerauthor…

Well, peeps, the 99-cent deal on ONCE MORE FROM THE TOP–book 1 in the Women of Willow Bay series garnered such a great response that I’m extending it for one more week. That great low price is good until October 7, so if you haven’t started this series yet, here’s a great opportunity. The Women of Willow Bay are stories about women over forty finding a second chance at love. I believe that love can happen to anyone at any age, that women only grow more interesting, and that you’re never too old for a little sexy romance. I started writing romance with seasoned characters because I wanted to read…

Yup, I really am at USA Today–today, actually! Hope you’ll stop by and check out the interview that Joyce Lamb did with me. It was so much fun! We mostly talked about my writing, but there were a few other kinds of questions as well. I hope I came off as the professional I try to be. Let me know what you think, okay?
